Mirroring stutter and devices dropping offline
Stutter is usually your PC’s downlink or too many HD streams. Home Device drops: check power and Wi-Fi on site. Cloud Device: check expiry first.
Split two things: watching the picture uses your PC’s downlink; the phone going online uses the device network. Stutter and “the phone has no network” are different.
Stutter, mushy input
Mirroring is a WebRTC live stream. In order of how often:
- Too many HD views. HD only the phones you’re watching. Drop the rest or close unused views.
- Your PC doesn’t have the bandwidth. Especially if you’re in China and the phones or facility are abroad.
- Home Device upload on site is weak. Slow or flaky Wi-Fi shows up as a bad picture first. Prefer stable Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Run one phone, then scale.
Cross-border delay is noticeable. Batch taps still work. “Feels like holding the phone” is not a fair acceptance test.
On Cloud Device, the facility line is rarely the first bottleneck. Check your side first.
Device shows offline
Home Device
- Power or router died on site: it comes back when power and network return. Nobody there to reboot is painful. Plan for always-on.
- The phone’s own network is down: connect-from-anywhere still uses that upload. Confirm the phone can open a webpage.
- Plugin removed or TrollStore gone: it drops from the list. Check whether an iOS update will keep TrollStore before you upgrade.
Cloud Device
- 30 days unpaid: it stops. Not a fault. Renew and it returns.
- Online but “no network”: default is the US line. If you changed SK5, check the node. See Cloud Device FAQ.
Still stuck
Tell sales: Home Device or Cloud Device, roughly how many you’re watching, resolution, and your network. “It’s laggy” alone isn’t enough.
