What to prepare before connecting Home Device
Before you connect your own iPhone: model and iOS version, network, power and placement, and the accounts you’ll need.
Ten minutes on the list below saves a lot of back-and-forth later.
1. TrollStore or jailbreak (this is the gate)
Home Device needs TrollStore or a jailbreak already on the phone. A stock iPhone cannot install WZT. TrollStore is not a jailbreak; the system stays stock.
Look for TrollStore, Sileo, or Zebra on the home screen. If they’re there, continue. If not, check whether the model and iOS version can install.
If this fails, the rest of the list doesn’t matter. See Does iPhone group control need a jailbreak?.
Don’t upgrade or downgrade just to connect. Confirm the current version first.
Suggested path: run one phone through the wizard until it connects, then do the rest. Don’t tear down dozens of phones first.
Unsure? Send the model and iOS version to sales before you start.
2. Network
Put the phone on reasonably fast Wi-Fi or Ethernet. If it has network, that’s enough. It does not need to share a LAN with your computer — traffic relays through our servers.
Mirroring uses the phone’s upload. Slow or flaky Wi-Fi shows up as a bad picture first. Connect one, measure delay, then scale. See How Home Device connects.
3. Power and placement
These phones stay online for a long time:
- Stable power. Decent chargers and cables. Check real output on multi-port bricks.
- Heat. Packed phones cook each other. Leave gaps; add a fan if needed.
- Stable network. Off-site phones especially. A drop with nobody on site is painful.
4. What to have ready
- A WangzhaPro account (register in the console if you don’t have one)
- If you need another route: Shadowrocket on Home Device; SK5 on Cloud Device. You bring the nodes
5. One phone first
Run mirroring, synced control, and media dispatch — the parts you will actually use — on one device. Then connect the rest.
Connecting Home Device has no setup fee.
